Smitha Beeravolu, MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Dr. Smitha Beeravolu was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. After receiving her medical degree in 2003, Dr. Beeravolu moved to the United States. In 2012, she completed her residency in Family Medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX, where she was selected as “Best Resident” for two consecutive years. She is a member of Americ an Academy of Family Medicine and American Medical Association.

Dr. Beeravolu enjoys treating patients of all ages, with special interest in women’s health and preventative medicine. She chose to pursue Family Medicine as her specialty because she values establishing and maintaining long term relationships with her patients and their families. Dr. Beeravolu is married and the loving mother of two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Beeravolu believes that listening to the patient is the key to providing quality medical care. Educating the patient and the family as a whole is essential in helping the patient to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Jeffrey B. Conklin, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

Dr. Jeffrey Conklin was born in Orchard Park, NY and received his Medical Degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Upon successful completion of the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Conklin started practice at the MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center in 2006. He joined Nova Medical Group in January 2011.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2006 and the American Board of Pediatrics since 2007, Dr. Conklin is a member of the American College of Physicians and a fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Conklin believes in helping patients learn as much as they can about their medical conditions and the latest general health recommendations so that they can make the best decisions possible to maximize their wellness.

Christopher Connolly, MD

Medical Director

Board Certified in Internal Medicine

 

Dr. Christopher Connolly graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a degree in biology.  He received his medical degree from the New York Medical College of Valhalla, NY, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

 

Prior to his medical school training, Dr. Connolly conducted specialized research for the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Obsterics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  During his medical school training at New York Medical college, Dr. Connolly was granted a research fellowship and continued his research interests in the fields of Gastroenterology and Infectious Disease.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in 1999.

Visha Dinesh, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine

A native of India, Dr. Visha Dinesh earned her medical degree from Madurai Medical College in Tamil Nadu, India. She moved to the United States in 2002 and completed her residency in internal medicine in Brooklyn, New York. During her second year of residency, she was named “Resident of the Year” and also served as the Chief Resident in her final year of residency. Upon completion of the program, Dr. Dinesh moved to Maine where she practiced medicine for four years.

Dr. Dinesh is board certified in internal medicine and has a special interest in preventive care, women's health, and endocrine diseases. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Dinesh uses a holistic approach in treating her patients. She understands that lifestyle habits – including proper sleep, regular exercise, and stress management – play an essential role in preventative care. By practicing what she preaches, she is able to further help her patients create a road map to wellness.

Graham Dondlinger, MD
Internal Medicine

Dr. Graham Dondlinger was born and raised in Manitowoc, WI. He earned his undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA and his medical degree at Wright State University in Dayton, OH. His medical residency was completed through the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital Program of Internal Medicine in Baltimore, MD.

Since 1992, Dr. Dondlinger has served in the U.S. Air Force. He first started his career with the Air Force as a security policeman. Today, he is currently an Air Force reservist, working as Director of Critical Care Medicine with the 512th Aerospace Medical Squadron at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He has lived in Northern Virginia with his wife and daughter since 2009.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Dondlinger believes that quality care comes out of teamwork. Everyone – from the medical provider to the patient and family members – contributes to the patient’s overall well-being.

Holly Harris, MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Dr. Harris was born in Orlando, FL and received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida. She earned her medical degree from Howard University before completing her training in family medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Harris joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc in September, 2008.

Dr. Harris believes in patient education and providing compassionate care for all patients. She encourages patients to be active in their medical care.

Monica Kanal, DO
Internal Medicine

Dr. Monica Kanal was raised in Front Royal, VA. She earned a Master's in Public Health at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with a focus on Environmental and Occupational Medicine. Her experiences there led her to subsequently obtain her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kanal will join the Nova Medical Group team in June 2013 upon completing her Internal Medicine Residency at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Kanal’s interests include fitness, nutrition, preventive medicine, and global health.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Kanal believes that a physician serves as an advocate to help the patient optimize his or her health. Educating patients about their health allows them to be proactive in feeling their best.

Grace L. Keenan, MD

Dr. Keenan is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc.  A native of Canada, she received her medical degree from Memorial University School of Medicine in 1985.  Upon successful completion of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Thomas Hospital Center in Akron, OH, Dr. Keenan relocated to Loudoun County and began private practice in 1988. The previous sole proprietorship became Nova Medical Group in 1991; today it is the largest integrative primary care practice in Loudoun County with locations in Ashburn, Sterling, Leesburg and Warrenton.  An office in Gainesville is slated to open in early 2013.

 

Dr. Keenan is a business leader in Loudoun County.  In 2012, she was honored with an “Enterprising Women of the Year” award by Enterprising Women magazine, a “Brava! Women in Business” award by SmartCEO magazine, a “Women Who Mean Business” award by the Washington Business Journal, and the inaugural “Stellar Woman of the Year” award at the Virginia Women’s Business Conference.  She is actively involved with the local community, serving on the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Loudoun County CEO Cabinet, and the Tigerlily Foundation Board of Directors.  In addition, Dr. Keenan is a member of 100 Women Strong, the Washington Spa Alliance, a clinical preceptor for George Mason and Marymount Universities, and an affiliate faculty for George Mason University.  On a national level, she serves on the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Leaders & Innovators Strategic Advisory Panel and the University of California Irvine Extension Advisory Committee for the Spa & Hospitality Management Certificate Program.

 

Other professional memberships include: the Medical Society of Northern Virginia, American Association of Medical Review Officers, Medical Society of Virginia, American Medical Association, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, International Spa Association (ISPA), and Vistage.

Carol Mattes, MD, PhD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Carol Mattes earned her Bachelor of Science with distinction from the Pennsylvania State University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000. She completed her internship at George Washington University Medical School and her residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD, where she received the Excellence in Geriatric Care award.

Before her medical training, Dr. Mattes earned her Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry and contributed to developing medication to protect our troops from the effects of chemical weapons. Since receiving board certification in family medicine in 2003, Dr. Mattes has had broad experience in both primary care and urgent care settings.

Dr. Mattes chose family practice because it gives her the opportunity to practice medicine as she has always wanted – by providing care on the family level.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Mattes listens to her patients and believes in educating them about their individual conditions and needs, helping them to live better, healthier lives.

James F. McMurry, Jr., MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Board Certified in Endocrinology

Born, raised and educated in Oklahoma, Dr. McMurry earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma in 1965 and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an internal medicine residency in 1969 and endocrinology training in 1971. Dr. McMurry is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the Endocrine Society and a former President of the Washington, DC Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association.  He is currently the lead physician for the Nova Diabetes Center.

After practicing for many years in his solo medical practice in Montgomery County, Maryland, Dr. McMurry and his wife Rebecca moved to Leesburg. During his time off, Dr. McMurry enjoys photography, genealogy and exploring early Virginian history with his wife.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. McMurry believes that patient education plays a pivotal role in effective care, especially in the treatment of advanced medical conditions.

Holger Noelle, MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Dr. Holger Noelle was born and raised near Cologne, Germany. After completing a mandatory two-year military service in the airborne, Dr. Noelle began his medical education in natural medicine leading to a license in holistic medicine. He received his medical degree after completing a seven year program at the Justus-Liebig University, near Frankfurt, Germany.

After completing the surgical part of his medical education in Tel Aviv Israel, Dr. Noelle returned to Germany, where he worked for two years in vascular surgery. After receiving his medical license he moved to the United States with his wife, a native of Florida.

Dr. Noelle completed a U.S. residency program at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in family medicine. He joined Nova Medical and Urgent Care Center in 2005 and is experienced in both holistic and traditional medicine. He enjoys treating patients of all ages.

He is married and has two sons. He currently resides in Oakton, VA.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

Medicine is an art; the art of finding the best way to improve a person's life. Sometimes we find the right answer in holistic medicine and other times in traditional medicine. But, the real success depends on treating the whole person, not the just the disease.

Hannah E. Phillips, MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Dr. Hannah Phillips was born in Hull, England and immigrated with her family to Canada in 1985. She grew up in Montreal, Quebec, and received both her undergraduate degree in molecular biology and her medical degree from McGill University. She completed her training in family medicine at Tufts University in Boston, MA and is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians.

Dr. Phillips joined Nova Medical Group in 2007 and is especially interested in integrative medicine and preventive health and wellness. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and is fluent in French.

Dr. Phillips believes in a holistic approach to medical care with an emphasis on health and wellness.

Afzal U. Rasheed, MD
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Born in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Rasheed received her medical degree in 1989 from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India. She then completed residency in 2001 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. Before moving to Virginia in July of 2007 and joining Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, inc., Dr. Rasheed worked in family practice and urgent care settings in Washington D.C., Ohio and Delaware.

She is a member of American Academy of Family Practice and enjoys treating patients of all ages and ethnic groups.

Dr. Rasheed believes in providing quality compassionate care to patients through all phases of life. Patient education and actively involving patent in decision making are of great importance in being able to provide this type of quality medical care.

Mariya Urbanski, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Dr. Mariya Urbanski was born and raised in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from NN State Medical Academy in 1996 and was the president of the local medical association. She practiced in Russia before immigrating to the United States in 2000. In the US, she completed her stateside residency at Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, while performing additional coursework at Cornell University's Weill School of Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Urbanski comes from a long line of physicians, as both her mother and grandmother were also medical doctors. She strives to continue the family tradition, combining the highest level of knowledge with common sense and practicality to provide the best possible medical care. She specializes in primary care, senior care, and rehabilitation medicine.

Dr. Urbanski is a member of the American Academy of Physicians and the American Medical Association. She is fluent in Russian and enjoys playing violin, ice skating, golfing and cooking in her leisure time. She also volunteers her services at several local clinics and is a strong advocate for providing medical services to those who are unable to afford such. Dr. Urbanski currently resides in Reston with her husband, son and two step daughters.

Kimberly Zawistoski, DO
Board Certified in Family Medicine

Dr. Kimberly Zawistoski was born and raised in Erie, PA and received her undergraduate degree in Health Science from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2002. She then earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, at the Bradenton, FL campus in 2008. Her family medicine residency training was completed at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA where she served as chief resident in 2011.

Dr. Zawistoski is board certified in family medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Zawistoski enjoys family medicine because it offers the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and to develop long term patient relationships.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Zawistoski believes that listening to the patient and patient education are the two key factors to a successful doctor – patient relationship.
